Repatriation of Balances Held in Foreign Currency Accounts
Balances held in foreign currency accounts by eligible persons under general authorization are freely repatriable abroad without requiring prior approval from the Bangladesh Bank. However, it has been noticed that Authorized Dealer (AD) banks are not following these instructions, causing inconvenience for account holders. AD banks are advised to facilitate the repatriation of funds from foreign currency accounts without creating any obstacles.
