Government revises excise duty on domestic airline tickets

The Government, under Section 12A(1) of The Excises and Salt Act, 1944, has amended Service Code E033.00 through a notification dated 27th May 2024 (S.R.O. No.-136-Act/2024/242-Excise). The revised excise duties for services rendered by airlines are as follows:
Domestic Airline Tickets : Single-journey tickets involving one or more stopovers: Taka 700 per seat.
International Airline Tickets : SAARC countries: Taka 1,000 per seat.
Other Asian countries: Taka 2,500 per seat.
Europe, USA, and other countries: Taka 4,000 per seat.
