Tax exemption for private power generation companies producing renewable energy

SRO No. 375-Act/Income Tax-50/2024
Tax exemption has been granted for private power generation companies producing renewable energy operating under the BOO (Build Own Operate) policy in Bangladesh. These exemptions are provided for the following periods:
– 100% tax exemption for the first five years,
– 50% for the next three years,
– 25% for the following two years
These exemptions are applicable for companies starting commercial operations between 01 July 2025 and 30 June 2030 provided certain conditions are met. This SRO is effective from 01 July 2025.
